Description

This quilt reminds me of when I was younger and going to school fayres in the summer, hence its name. It is a lovely big quilt made up of individually hand cut isosceles triangles in pretty pastels, brighter ditsy flower prints, stripes and polka dots. The fabrics used in the top are mostly 100% cotton with one or two prints in a cotton poplin. The backing is a plain pink colour. The quilting is little squiggles in every other triangle which delicately emphasises the triangular shapes. It has been hand bound to the back. The wadding used is Hobbs 80/20, so this is a warm quilt.

It measures 194cm x 172cm (76.5” x 68”)

Additional Information

Care instructions: this quilt can be machine washed, using a delicate wash and cold water, add 3-4 colour catchers to the wash and just a little washing detergent. The best way to dry the quilt is to lay it flat out on the grass and flip over from time to time and put it in the tumble dryer for 10 minutes just to ‘fluff’ it up to finish.

If hand washing this quilt, do not scrub it or wring it out.

When the quilt has been washed there will be some shrinkage of the wadding so the quilt will have a slightly crinkled and well-loved look.
