Description

This beautiful quilt has been made using a panel featuring two men and two women in traditional Japanese clothing.

All of the colourful fabrics and the lighter fabrics are all Japanese style fabrics, the outer cream coloured fabric has columns of writing in black. The red fabric has gold flowers, the blue has lighter blue fan shapes and the black and gold has flowers and squares on point. The fabric along the bottom has lots of Japanese figures throughout. Lastly, the cream fabric which borders all the colourful fabrics has a delicate honeycomb print.

This quilt has been simply quilted using a gold-coloured thread. It has two straight lines down all of the black sashing strips and a loose meander design on all of the colourful sections.

The quilt has been backed using a light gold fabric which perfectly complements the front, and it has been hand bound in black.

The wadding is a double layer of Hobbs Heirloom 80/20, so this is a warm quilt.

It measures 200 cm x 160 cm (78.75” x 63”)

Additional Information

Care instructions: this quilt can be machine washed, using a delicate wash and cold water, add 3-4 colour catchers to the wash and just a little washing detergent. The best way to dry the quilt is to lay it flat out on the grass and flip over from time to time and put it in the tumble dryer for 10 minutes just to ‘fluff’ it up to finish.

If hand washing this quilt, do not scrub it or wring it out.

When the quilt has been washed there will be some shrinkage of the wadding so the quilt will have a slightly crinkled and well-loved look.
